Vintage TutorialThis is a simple way of getting somewhat of a vintage look on your photos. This will be the starting image for me: ![]() Step 1: Open the picture in Photoshop. Step 2: Make sure your Layer Palette is open. To open it, hit F7 on your keyboard. Step 3: If your image is not very bright, right click on the first layer and select Duplicate Layer. Step 4: Set the second layer's settings to Screen to brighten it up a bit. Step 5: Make a new layer by going up to the top menu and then to Layer>>New>>Layer... Step 6: With the new, blank layer, use the Paint Bucket Tool in the Tool Palette to fill the layer with a somewhat Dark Blue color. I chose #114160 to fill it, then with the bucket selected, click anywhere on the blank layer. Step 7: Once you have that layer filled, set the settings to Exculsion. This will give it a nice tinted color. Step 8: If there is too much tint, then do what I've done. I Duplicated the first layer (the original picture) and set the settings to Soft Light. If you'd like, you could play around with the Opacity of the layers to see what you could come up with that would suit you more, but those are the steps I did to complete mine. This is the finished image after all of this: ![]() ŠNicci from Messy Locker 2008-2009. Messy Locker is in no way affiliated with Myspace. Everything was made by me, unless stated otherwise. |
